Why I became an Adaptive Instructor.

Have you heard of the term, think globally, act locally?

Well to be honest it all started when I went to India in 2016. Hey, if you ever want to change your life, go there! The people of India will turn your life upside down without them even knowing it, or do they?.....

When I finally returned to Canada I was a mess, physically and mentally. It took me months to get myself back together and what really helped me was this new mantra, think globally and locally. How can I use my privileges here to help others? What skills do I have to offer?

I've always enjoyed taking care of people, especially on the mountain as I was a Snow Sport Instructor before leaving for that hot, impoverished, loud, delicious, Country. I remembered I helped an Adaptive Program back in New Zealand years prior and how rewarding it was for everyone.

In 2018 I became an Adaptive Instructor, CADS 1 certified. Since then I have been teaching participants of all ages with all kinds of abilities and differences. I believe I am enriching their well-being, creating a safe and fun learning atmosphere, growing their confidence and courage!
How amazing!?! :D

I am looking forward to the future as my next step is CADS 2 and.....!!!! I am creating an Adaptive Program at Whitewater Ski Resort.

Realistically, we can't change the world overnight, but we can help our community and that love and support travel all around the world.

Thank you for letting me share my story with you.
