- Special Meeting of the Members
Dear CADS Members –
Thank you all for your ongoing support and commitment to CADS programming across the country. Our collective efforts continue to provide safe, fun, and inclusive experiences on snow for thousands of Canadians from coast to coast to coast.
We thank the 345 members who took the time to join the Special Meeting of Members on August 24 and participate in the vote. The motion was defeated, and the current Board will remain in place. While the outcome provides continuity, it also sends a clear message that improvements on how CADS communicates, consults, and engages with its membership is required. We are grateful for your vote of renewed confidence and look forward to serving all the members and in the best interest of CADS moving forward.
We have listened and continue to listen to the membership. We understand the concerns raised and reaffirm our commitment to addressing those concerns in a comprehensive and timely manner to find a path forward together. The vote may have concluded, but the work of strengthening CADS continues.
In the coming days, a package including meeting notes, a factual summary of current operations, proposed next steps, and anticipated timelines will be provided to Club and Division Leaders for distribution to members. We will also be working to establish regular, ongoing discussions with division and club leadership and will communicate next steps and timelines in the coming weeks.
We are excited to see the snow fly and are looking forward to a great season on snow.
Yours in service,
Neale Gillespie, Natasha Martin, James Dicks, Ed Shaw, Tracy Schmitt.
